Emily Carmichael is a professional trumpet player based in Ontario, Canada. She holds a Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes School of Music, where she studied with Brandon Ridenour, Peter Evans, and Mark Gould. During her time in New York, Emily performed with the Symphony of Westchester, the Mannes Orchestra, and the JEMME Brass Quintet, which she co-founded. She also attended the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2024 and is an Orchestra of St. Luke’s Chamber Music Fellow.

 

Before studying in New York, Emily completed her Master’s in Music Performance and Literature at the University of Western Ontario and her Bachelor of Music Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University. As both a performer and educator, Emily is active throughout Ontario, appearing as a soloist and ensemble musician while sharing her passion for music through teaching, collaboration, and community performance.
